Skarloey is one of the oldest narrow gauge engines.
He is a respectful, relatable and a wise engine who loves work at the Blue Mountain Quarry, he likes to shunt slate trucks, and hopper cars, to and fro the quarry, also on occasions, helping to load Owen. Skarloey patrols the Blue Mountain Quarry when the engines are working and while he is in and out of working hard.
